Kang Gam-chan
Gang Gam-chan (Korean Hanja: 姜邯贊 or 姜邯瓚, November 19, 948 – August 20, 1031) was a Goryeo Dynasty official. His ancestral home was Geumju.
In 983 (3rd year of King Seongjong's reign), he passed the state examination with top honors and became Yebu Sirang (Minister of Rites), Hanlim Haksa (Royal Academy Scholar), and eventually Pyungjangsa (Prime Minister). He repelled the three invasions of the Liao Dynasty, and in 1019 (10th year of King Hyeonjong's reign), he was ennobled as Geomgyo Taeui Munha Sirang Dongnaesa Munha Pyungjangsa Cheonsuhyeon Gaeguknam Sikup Sambaekho (檢校太尉門下侍郞同內史門下平章事天水縣開國男食邑三百戶). In 1020 (11th year of King Hyeonjong's reign), he was promoted to Teokjin Geomgyo Taeboo Cheonsuhyeon Gaegukja Sikup Ohbaekho (特進檢校太傅天水縣開國子食邑五), in 1030 (21st year of King Hyeonjong's reign), he became Munha Sijung (Chief State Councillor), and in 1031 (22nd year of King Hyeonjong's reign), he reached the rank of Teokjin Geomgyo Taesa Sijung Cheonsugun Gaegukhoo (特進檢校太師侍中天水郡開國侯). His posthumous name was Inheon (仁憲). He was enshrined in King Hyeonjong's ancestral temple, and during the reign of King Munjong, he was posthumously honored with the titles of Su Taesa (Guardian Grand Preceptor) and Jungseo Ryeong (Chief State Councillor).
