Dasan Jeong Yak-yong

Jeong Yak-yong (August 5, 1762 – April 7, 1836)

He was a scholar and statesman of the late Joseon dynasty, widely recognized as a leading figure of Silhak (Practical Learning).

He was born in Majae-ri, Chobu-myeon, Gwangju-bu, Gyeonggi-do in 1762. His ancestral home was Naju. His courtesy names were Miyong (美庸) and Songpo (頌甫), and his pen names included Gwinong (歸農), Dasan (茶山), Sammi (三眉), Yeoyudang (與猶堂), Saam (俟菴), Jahadoin (紫霞道人), Tagong (籜翁), Taesu (苔叟), Munamil-in (門巖逸人), and Cheolmasancho (鐵馬山樵).

The closer the relationship, the more affectionate you should be, and the more familiar you are, the more respectful you should be.
Demanding the same behavior from everyone is a path to losing oneself and others, and unanimity is an insult to humanity.
We have received countless forgivenesses knowingly or unknowingly throughout our lives. So be generous to others.
The most mature attitude towards meeting people is not to be disappointed in them in advance.
