John F. Kennedy
John F. Kennedy (1917 May 29 – 1963 November 22 (aged 46))
The 35th President of the United States. He was the president who ushered in the era of television image politics, the youngest president in U.S. history elected through a formal election, the first Catholic president of the United States, one of eight U.S. presidents who graduated from Harvard University, and a non-WASP president. He was the first U.S. president born in the 20th century. He was assassinated in Texas after just two years and ten months in office.
Along with Franklin D. Roosevelt and others, he is a representative figure of the Democratic Party in the United States, and is a president who is close to being a spiritual pillar of the American progressive class and Democratic Party supporters. He resolved the Cuban Missile Crisis, which could have become World War III, and launched the Apollo program, giving the United States absolute supremacy in the space race. He inspired the American people with his New Frontier spirit, "Ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country." Along with Reagan, he is a post-World War II president who enjoys cross-partisan popularity.
○ Skeptics and cynics, whose vision is limited to seeing only obvious realities, will never solve many of the world's problems. What we need are those who can dream of things that have never existed.
○ Consider that if we always do things the same way, problems will be solved. Then no problems will arise. But that's impossible. To solve problems in a complex and diverse reality, we need to come up with incredibly ingenious ideas that may seem absurd. Even if those ideas are useless, find at least one solution within them.
○ I don't care what you do. But whatever you do, be the best at it. Even if you become a sewer worker, be the best sewer worker in the world.
○ Action comes with risks and costs. But this is much less than the long-term risks and costs associated with inaction.
