Friedrich Nietzsche
Friedrich Nietzsche (1844.10.15. ~ 1900. 8.25.)
A German philosopher and philologist. His major philosophical ideas include 'God is dead', the Will to Power, the Übermensch, Eternal Recurrence, and Amor Fati (love of fate).
With his unique radical ideas, he exerted the most profound influence on philosophical movements such as Lebensphilosophie (philosophy of life), existentialism, and postmodernism, laying the foundation for modern continental philosophy. Along with Marx, Freud, and Wittgenstein, he is considered one of the philosophers who had the greatest impact on the entire field of modern humanities. In fact, the renowned sociologist Max Weber argued that to ascertain the intellectual integrity of intellectuals of this era, one should examine how they evaluate the theoretical contributions of Marx and Nietzsche. In simpler terms, this statement, which highly regarded Nietzsche's intellectual impact in his time, implies that scholars who do not acknowledge the influence of Marx and Nietzsche lack sincerity.
Although he is sometimes misunderstood due to his characteristically aggressive criticisms, he is a philosopher with a wider range of thought than any other, and his works are interpreted in a variety of ways, sometimes even to an extreme degree, depending on the reader's perspective. One of the reasons for this is Nietzsche's unique writing style. Most of his works are composed of concise and intense aphorisms, giving a stronger impression of being literary rather than logical. However, his actual personality was reportedly gentle, humorous, and sociable.
First and foremost, respect yourself to complete your life.
Enriching yourself is the best way to enhance your abilities and enrich your life.
Living together is a wonderful thing. An even more wonderful thing is to laugh together.
Live as happily as possible. To do so, enjoy the present. Laugh freely and enjoy this moment with all your being.
Refine your plans as you execute them. Don't overthink it; simply adjust your plans to suit the circumstances.
Since death is predetermined, live cheerfully. Time is limited, so opportunities are always now.
There's no need to always be sensitive and sharp. Insensitivity is necessary. It's a knack for thinking and also a comfort for people.
You don't need to be loved by everyone. It's best not to try too hard and just live calmly as usual.
Have the courage to take responsibility for your dreams. If you don't intend to take responsibility for your dreams from the start, they will never come true.
In completing a task, the nature of perseverance plays a decisive role in believing in the maturation brought about by time.
For a better life, and to avoid thinking of yourself as insignificant, never abandon your ideals and dreams.
There are no vain laws in climbing the mountain of truth. Either you reach a higher place today, or you can build strength to climb higher tomorrow.
Nietzsche praises the autonomy of individuals who strive to find and develop their essence to live a better life. While respecting oneself, he also emphasizes the responsibility to coexist harmoniously with others. We find solace in Nietzsche's words that the diverse experiences we encounter in our lives, whether positive or negative, enrich our lives. May the lessons Nietzsche imparts bring a little comfort to your heart.
